Research shows that parental encouragement and support for learning activities at home combined with parental involvement in schooling is critical to children’s education. A partnership between parents and schools to support children’s learning leads to improved learning outcomes.
Students are more likely to be motivated, to earn higher grades, to have better behaviour and social skills, and to continue their education to a higher level when their parents are actively engaged in their education.
Parents contributing to their childrens education by:
- getting involved and attending the Parent Teacher Association
- making sure there is a quiet place set aside to do study
- restricting the use of social media
- meeting with teachers
- talking to your child about their day at school
